Today is St. Patrick’s Day; a cultural and religious holiday commemorating Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland so says Wikipedia.

In the sports world, however, March 17th is a day for teams to have a little fun with their uniforms – teams who don’t wear green suddenly break out the green and usually auction off the jerseys to raise money for charities.

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the teams who have confirmed they will be dressed in green or other commemorative St. Patrick’s Day uniforms this weekend and the uniforms they’ll be sporting….

Always LOVED the Mets St. Paddy's Day unis. It's perfect with the orange. Wonder if the Mets will have that awful Mr. Met dressed up as a leprachaun hat that they wore a few years back, I hope not!

Here are a few teams you might have missed... Chicago White Sox- although just limited to pinstripes, logo and cap Toronto St. Pats- probably should be the only time they wear these Here's an idea, perhaps to honor St. Patrick's day but at the same time the Hartford Whalers, the Carolina Hurricanes should dye their jerseys green. Same goes with the Dallas Stars!

I love how the white panels on the Mets jerseys make them look like tapered ladies fashion jerseys at quick first glance.

Could someone please bring the following message to Chris Creamer's attention? I tried e-mailing him two days ago and received a delivery failure notice, and in the time since, my e-mail signal has been too unstable to send e-mail. Thank you. ________ To whom it may concern: On March 14 I attempted to join the sportslogos.net forums. I used the account name WhittierS and the e-mail address [redacted, will provide upon request]hotmail.com. I waited 10 hours for the validation e-mail, checking both my inbox and my spam. After 10 hours and no validation, I clicked the "Resend Validation" link on the forum page. All this time, I was recognised as signed in, but any action I attempted registered an error saying my validation was not being recognised. I waited another 14 hours for a new validation but it never arrived. I sent an e-mail to this address yesterday, but got a delivery failure notice. Someone suggested I try starting a new account using a different e-mail address. I did so using the account name Whittier S (note the space), and the e-mail address [redacted, will provide upon request]gmail.com. This time my validation e-mail did arrive. I clicked the validation link, and the site opened with me signed in. However, when I tried to do anything on the website, again, I got the same error message regarding my validation not being recognised. I also tried using the link in the e-mail for those having trouble accessing their account, with the alphanumeric codes. Again, I had the same error. What is different this time, as opposed to my original account, is that there is no "Resend Validation" link anywhere. I very much would like to join your site, but there is clearly some technical issue preventing me from doing so. As I've tried to join using e-mail accounts from completely different services, I have reason to suspect the issue is not at my end. And if I am having this issue, others may be as well, but may not have the resources to address it. Please let me know what I can do to overcome my technical issues to join the site. Thank you, Whittier Strong

Technically, it's not until next weekend, but the ECHL's Trenton Titans will be wearing a green/plaid jersey for Irish Heritage Night, since the Titans are on the road this weekend. http://www.trentontitanshockey.com/irish-heritage-night/3453/
