OKC Thunder Court Painted with NBA Finals Logo

Just a quick sneak-peek of the basketball court at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City all painted up with the 2012 NBA Finals logo ready for tonight’s Game 1 match between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

    Such a weird idea that the recreation court on which I played last night (and missed tons of shots, as usual) has the same dimensions as this OKC court. Maybe I should paint The Finals on the rec court as well, looks nice (but then again, they'll kick me out forever).

    Why did they decide to stop painting the O'Brien trophy behind the mid court logo like in year's past?

      The Larry O'Brien Trophy that was on previous years' courts was just a decal of some sorts. I believe that it would get dangerously slick with the prespiration from the players. That is why it is no longer used. It wasn't used last year either if my memory serves me correct.

    Both the Finals logos and the O'Brien Trophy emblem are decals applied to the court. Perhaps the reason the Trophy wasn't added this year has to do with the Thunder logo; it really doesn't lend itself to having the Trophy decal applied as well as say, a circular logo such as the Celtics'.
