In 1998 the Seattle Mariners, tired of the Turn Back the Clock promotions of the past decade wanted something new, something fresh… they decided to Turn Ahead the Clock to their 50th anniversary season in 2027.
Major League Baseball loved the idea, tied a sponsor to it, and destroyed the concept for the 1999 season… I take a look at why it failed, how this idea could work again, and of course I throw in a bunch of pictures of those whacky futuristic uniforms in my latest article for theScore.com

Can you see the likes of Cobb, Gehrig, Musial, Mantle and Rose cheerfully donning such togs back in their day? Although the uniform corniness began in the 60's, MLB has become somewhat of a disgrace since Selig took over. Shame on him.
