Saskatchewan Roughriders to Wear White Helmets Friday

For reasons at-this-time undetermined, the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be sporting white helmets “for the first time in their history” says Roughriders radio man Rod Pedersen.

The above photo, which was also snapped by Pedersen, shows the white lids the team will be sporting for Friday’s season opener at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton.

The white helmet was not mentioned at all during their new uniform unveiling held earlier this year.

Saskatchewan also wore logo-less green helmets, with player numbers, for their pre-season game against B.C. two weeks ago.

The Roughriders logo always reminds me of some kind of defunct tractor brand. Or a brand of artificial manure from the seventies or something. They should come up with something more exciting to put on their new white helmets. Logo change time in Saskatchewan!
