Blue Jays Wear Red for Canada Day, Pics

As is (usually) the tradition in Toronto, the Toronto Blue Jays sported red jerseys in honour of Canada Day yesterday, July 1st, in their game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Paired with the red jersey tops was the “Stars and Stripes” camouflage-logo cap that teams were wearing earlier this season for Memorial Day, and will again on Independence Day this Wednesday.

While the idea of wearing a blue cap with their red jersey seemed like a bad idea to me when I heard about it, as a fan in the stands for this game I can say the cap looked quite well with the red top (although, to be honest, there’s no way you’d have known it was the “Stars and Stripes” cap they were wearing unless you had binoculars).

What made the blue cap work well with this set was that the players were wearing blue undershirts with the jerseys and their pants, of course, have the double blue stripe going up each side.

The jerseys were basically a straight copy of their alternate blue jerseys, just with a red body instead of blue.  The inner-piping of the “split-lettering” the team sports in the BLUE JAYS script across the front and in their player numbers on the back was also red instead of the standard blue.

As always, player names were replaced with “CANADA” on the back of the jerseys.

Looks much better indeed than it sounded beforehand. But for next season a red hat would be nice anyway (solid red or red crown with a white bill) but that would need a red or white undershirt and solid white trousers without the blue piping. Anyway, this looked nice.

I watched the game on television and red caps with the red tops would have looked great!! The blue caps just didn't go well with the Canada Day tops. Same with the blue undershirts. The uniform coordination could have been better thought out by the Jays. I agree, the camouflage on the caps were not noticable even on television.

For years birdwatchers have enjoyed studying bird in their natural environment courtesy of a pair of binoculars. While bird watchers appreciated the convenience of the binoculars, they were frustrated by the fact that they were unable to take photographs of their subjects. Some birdwatchers got around stopped using their binoculars and switched to studying birds through long range zoom cameras. While this was great for birdwatchers, what about people who were drawn to the see, whale watchers often worried about taking their expensive digital cameras on board ships because they were afraid of what the water and salt would do to the camera’s delicate mechanisms.: Find out about our personal homepage as well <'http://www.caramoantourpackage.com/caramoan-island/
