Astros Flashing Back to 1994 for Tonight’s Game

The Houston Astros are debuting the final uniform from their 50th anniversary Flashback Friday series in tonight’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

For tonight and the rest of the Friday home games in August (August 10th, 17th, 24th) the Astros will be wearing the home jersey worn with the navy blue and gold uniform set originally used by the club from 1994 through 1999 – shown above.

Patch to be worn by Astros tonight, originally worn during the ’94 season

The jerseys will include the “Astrodome: The Original” patch worn only during the 1994 season, but will NOT include the MLB 125th anniversary patch also worn that season.  Making this uniform technically not part of any season in Astros history.

Houston is expected to announce an entirely new logo and uniform set during the off-season (likely in November) for their 2013 shift to the American League.

Yuck...their worst ever. So 90's...this open star design paved the way for the current open star garbage.

I really want to go but until they have $1 beer night I'm not going. 35 losses in 39 games, just can't justify spending money at MM Park

Was a big fan of these. The navy/midnight cap with the gold star is still one of my all time favorites.

This one is better than the current ones. However the way they are playing they should say Chico's Bail Bonds

    Isn't 1994 too soon for a flashback?

Although a bit ahead of it's time, these uniforms were cool. If you go to the uni watch website involving the Houston Astros possible new uniforms, you'll see variations of them including ones with this colour scheme plus bronze.

My favorite Astros unis ever. Being called 'Astros' and wearing the current "retro" unis is an oxymoron. I hope they bring back a more futuristic look next year.

I have the (road?) cap with the gold bill and the gold star and it is one of my favorite baseball hats. These uniforms were better looking than the current ones.

This was my favorite look by the Astros. I don't know why they ditched these.

"The jerseys will include the “Astrodome: The Original” patch worn only during the 1994 season, but will NOT include the MLB 125th anniversary patch also worn that season. Making this uniform technically not part of any season in Astros history." I don't believe you said that. Okay, what did they wear in '95,'96,'97,'98,AND '99? ("technically not part of any season in Astros history.") :-\
