What you see here are new uniforms by Adidas for the Louisville basketball team for the 2012-2013 season. Despite changing uniforms for the playoffs last year, having folks assume those were the unis for the following year we are about to begin, a new set has been “leaked.”
Kenny Klein, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations/SID at the University of Louisville, tweeted the following picture, telling followers that the players were filming promos to be shown on the screens at the arena.
Pretty standard, clean, simple design. The shoulder piping is way more traditional, with a slight bout of blocky goofiness around the collar. The number one in the number font is exceptionally pointy, but overall not too bad.
But, then Senior guard Peyton Siva posted a full uniform look on his Instagram, showing the shorts.
Hard to fully make out all of the shapes, but there are almost certainly curved side panels with textured gradient red on one side, black on the other. Interesting.
For reference, here are the uniforms the Cardinals wore late last year.
Do you like the look? 313 of his followers do. Is this an upgrade?

Friday, October 5, 2012 at 04:53Gradients are so wack. The shirt looks okay, but the collar is, once again, adidasly awkward. The shorts look like they have been designed by the cast of Jersey Shore. Zubazz pants for warmups, I guess? Mandatory box cuts and mullets for team members? Brrrrrrrr....
