US Soccer USMNT Wear Special Jerseys for their Gold Cup Final Win

If you watched the match and missed an explanation, like me, you might have wondered what was going on with what appeared to be the world’s smallest ad on the chest of the US National Team jerseys.

As it turns out, these were specially customized jerseys, as shown by the USMNT equipment manager, Jesse Bignami

In addition to the normal Gold Cup sleeve patches, Jesse embroidered the center chest with “CONCACAF Gold Cup Final, USA vs Panama, July 28, 2013”

Inside the shirt, just above the heart, he also placed a “W.”

Seems like the addition worked.

What do you think of the special edition jersey idea? Do you think these look sharp, or was this just a silly needless addition?
