Minnesota Wild New Road Jersey Teasers

Written By:  •  Friday, August 30, 2013

The Minnesota Wild have jumped on the “teaser” bandwagon for the unveiling of their new road uniform, due to be fully revealed this Sunday at the Minnesota State Fair.

So far five teaser images have been posted to the official team website, we’ve gathered the released images to assemble the crude mockup below:

Assembling the puzzle that is the new Minnesota Wild road jersey for 2014

What do we know?

Well, we got a white base for the jersey, with alternating green and white stripes either on the arms or along the waist.

Green and white stripes either at the waist or on the arms (or both)

There is a green shoulder yoke.

Collar is red and green, the little valley at the bottom of the collar (where the NHL shield goes) is red.

It will read “MINNESOTA” in white on green on the inside of the back collar.

“MINNESOTA” in the inside collar, another look at the green and red collar striping

Green laces down from the collar.

And player numbers on the sleeves are red with a green trim

Red and green numbers on the sleeves, green shoulder yoke does NOT extend all the way down the arms

What don’t we know yet?

Basically just the logo and any shoulder patches at this point.  I’m sure we’ll get a look at those in the next few teaser images to come this weekend.

For those who need a refresher, this is what the Wild have been wearing on the road since their expansion season (with a few very minor tweaks here and there over the years):

We’ll get a full look at the uniform on Sunday at 11:30am CT (12:30pm ET), naturally we’ll give you all the details here at SportsLogos.Net when the time comes.

I personally think the numbers should be green with red trim. I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually model their home jerseys after these.

  • Steve

I really hope they use their primary bear head as the main crest. That is one awesome abstract logo that hasn’t been used the way it should in recent years.

  • Aaron

One thing I wouldn’t mind seeing as a shoulder patch logo…

The emblem that says Minnesota, the State of Hockey with the state silhouette.

  • alex

god i hate these teaser pics……………..stupid fad

  • Nicolas Ballou-Perez

New number font? Their old font was unique and cool. Why change to boring old font?

I am very happy to see the apparent and final elimination of Gold from the uniforms. From their inception, the red, green and gold combo has made this team look like tired Xmas decorations you’d see hanging at a JCPenny. As such, I always refer to this team as the “Christmas Creatures”. “Wheat” has essentially replaced gold anyways. Standardizing the color scheme AND the number fonts is a much needed change. The away whites, while the only remaining uniform from their initial season, have been completely out of place with the rest of uniform lineup for years now.

Now, change the forest green to kelly green, and change the red to yellow. Wham Bam, the Wild would finally look like a proper Minnesota NHL franchise.

I already have a bad feeling about this.

  • This website is likely the cause of the teaser fad. Chris Creamer’s influence is far and wide.

As for the bear head logo, it is one of the best, most creative logos I have ever seen. The north star, the stream, etc is simply brilliant. That said, I do like the circle logo as well.

  • agege

How about dropping it altogether and renaming the team the North Stars? All you have to do is convince Gaglardi to relinquish ownership of the name and move the Stars somewhere like Quebec.

    • Aaron

      Or the Fighting Saints!

    • Victor the Crab

Do lay off the drugs, numbnuts. The Stars ain’t leaving Dallas.

    • Callahan

What is with people in demanding another Canadian team? They have enough. Quebec has the Canadiens. If Canada had more bigger cities or areas like the United States then maybe they could get another.

      • agege

It is Canada’s sport. If the NHL were to expand to 32 teams like the NFL my first two choices would be the Hartford Whalers and Quebec Nordiques, with the Stars moving to Hamilton to become the Tigers and the Wild becoming the North Stars. Also, the Blue Jackets would beome the Cleveland Barons as a sidenote.

        • Victor the Crab

Thank God the NHL isn’t run by ignorant dumbasses like you who whine, moan, bitch and complain that “their game” isn’t run to their reactionary demands. Do grow up, crybaby!

  • They should change those hideous red home jerseys instead.

  • M. Quinn

I’ve always wondered why they use the color red. It would make more sense if they used midnight blue for the sky in their logo. Plus, it’s a good color combination.

    • M. Quinn

Never mind, I see that it makes a sunset scenery.

  • Southstander

May I ask why you did not use the same mirror image swap you did with the laces on the collar on the right side?

  • Jeremy

I’m sick of all these uniform “teasers”. Just show the damn jersey already!

  • Jeff Young

The Wild have a great logo, but I have never cared for their home or away uniforms that much. I would definately use the main logo on the crest of both the home and away uniforms and not use the alternate “Minnesota” script lettering anymore. It will be interesting to see what the new unis look like!
