Pittsburgh Penguins Unveil Stadium Series Uniform

The Pittsburgh Penguins unveiled the uniform they’ll be wearing in their outdoor “Stadium Series” game at Chicago’s Solider Field on March 1, 2014 via post on their official team website earlier today.

The uniform is white and features the Penguins “chromified” logo on the chest, there’s a black shoulder yoke with “Vegas Gold” trim at the ends and around the collar.

Down the sleeves there are gold, white, and black half-stripes, the players number on each sleeve is at an angle “to improve visibility in outdoor venues” (huh?) much like the Los Angeles Kings Stadium Series jersey.

“I like the logo with the silver accent and metallic look, it has a different kind of fit with the striping. The socks and pants all tie into one. It’s a good look. It keeps the original in tact, but changed enough to play in an outdoor game.” – Penguins player Chris Kunitz

I gotta say, despite their Boston Bruins-esque look to them, with a little minor tweaking (normal logo, straight numbers) these uniforms top their current road white sweaters. No jokes.
