May the fourth be with you… and also with the Durham Bulls.

The Durham Bulls last night introduced their 2014 Star Wars game uniform which is based heavily off of the design of R2D2, perhaps the best character in that franchise, seen in the photo above.

Durham plans on wearing these uniforms on May 4th, the unofficial day of all things Star Wars. “May the fourth”, which kinda sounds like the famous line from the films: “May the force be with you”, when spoken with a lisp.

The uniforms feature the tiny droid’s many buttons and compartments over the front and back of the jersey, with a couple of racing stripes thrown in on each sleeve.

The jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Autism Society of North Carolina.

Star Wars jerseys are nothing new, especially in Minor League Baseball. Last year, for example, SportsLogos.Net was invited down to Buffalo to take part in the Bisons’ annual Star Wars celebration.
