The Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves in Rome, GA have come out with a new alternate logo, and as expected, the logo takes inspiration from the Roman empire. It’s simple, effective, and still brings the goofiness and fun that we all associate with the world of Minor League baseball, at least as far as the logos are concerned.
From the team’s press release (which we linked to above), the Rome Braves clearly stated what the inspiration was, here.
The logo features a Roman soldier’s helmet on a baseball with the letter “R” on the front. The helmet was used by the military of ancient Rome from 753 BC – AD 476 and pays tribute to the name of our hometown of Rome, GA with a red, blue, and gray color scheme.
