Any child of the 90s will feel all sorts of nostalgic when they see what the Vancouver Canucks tweeted yesterday morning.

The “flying skate” uniform as some of us referred to it will be returning for one-game-only next month, this much we already knew, but what we had yet to see was how those old school threads would look on the modern Reebok NHL template. The Canucks answered that question via a video:

Simply put, it looks good.

A pretty faithful reproduction, the hem stripes are curved slightly to follow the curves which now exist on jerseys. The collar also different, again due to the changes in uniform templates.

Compare with the originals:

We had also already heard about goaltender Ryan Miller joining in on the retro fun by wearing a special version of his mask. Well guess what?! The fun continues, as it looks like he’ll be wearing matching pads (photo @VanCanucks):

Be sure to tune in on February 13th when the Canucks take on the Toronto Maple Leafs and bring us all back to that glorious decade.
