Today, The Daily Mail’s sports section decided to share its opinion on what they felt were the ugliest logos in world soccer. The inspiration for this article was Bundesliga club Wolfsburg’s crest, which isn’t exactly a shining beacon of soccer crest design.

However, the Daily Mail ended up incurring the wrath of an unintended target who was on their list: Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg. The Russian Giants noticed that their logo was on the list, and they were none too pleased about being there. As a result, they decided to fire back at The Daily Mail via Twitter, and they proceeded to throw a stone at The Mail’s glass house.

The exchange continued from there, with The Daily Mail claiming that Zenit’s old logo was better, while Zenit fired back with the same argument.
