One of the most polarizing football uniforms in the NFL today are the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 1934 throwback uniforms, which are affectionately (or derisively) referred to as the “bumblebee” throwbacks.
Well, we’ve got good news to share for you if you’re a fan of these particular uniforms: The Steelers will be wearing them again next season. The team confirmed this news via a press release, and this will make it five seasons in a row in which they’ve worn these uniforms. They’ve been wearing the throwbacks ever since the NFL switched to Nike-manufactured uniforms, and it appears that the team has really taken a shine to using them as alternate uniforms.
The Steelers will be wearing these uniforms for their Week 5 tilt against the New York Jets, and if they follow the pattern from last season, that’ll be the only time they wear those throwbacks.
