The San Diego Padres and Boston Red Sox will wrap up their three game set in San Diego tonight (Wednesday, September 7th) by wearing uniforms similar in design to those worn by each team in 1936.
San Diego (who wasn’t awarded their Major League team until 1969) will be wearing the uniforms of their namesake from the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. San Diego’s uniform will be white with pinstripes and SAN DIEGO arched across the chest while the Red Sox will be wearing grey with BOSTON across in blue and red.
The Padres have worn this throwback previously, back in June 2011, that uniform plus the original Red Sox look from ’36 below:
