BCS Phantom

The Tigers finally did it, our phantom champions from last season at Clemson rolled away the tide to get their revenge to the tune of 35-31 in last night’s NCAA Bowl Championship Series finale. The win was Clemson’s first national football title since 1981 and stopped Alabama from winning back-to-back championships after their victory last January.

Here we have a small sampling of “phantom championship” merchandise — the caps, t-shirts, and other items that would have been produced had Alabama gotten just one extra touchdown and won the game.

As you can see they had a “Back to Back Champs” logo all ready to go:

They also produced designs for two of the semi-finalists, Ohio State and Washington:

Washington BCS Champs 2017I’m not enough of a college sports fan to understand what “THE” significance of that Ohio State shirt is. If you know please share in the comments.
