Charlotte Hornets will wear new Jordan Brand uniforms when NBA goes to Nike

Hornets
As you all may know, the NBA is switching from Adidas to Nike as the official uniform manufacturer of the league for the 2017-18 season. However, there’s an interesting wrinkle concerning the uniforms of the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hornets announced today that they’re switching the locations of their box office and Fan Shop. However, they buried a very interesting bit of information in that particular announcement — when the league switches to Nike, they’re going to have new uniforms with the Jordan Brand on them.

Here’s the quote from their announcement earlier:

The re-opening of the Hornets Fan Shop will coincide with the launch of the team’s new Jordan Brand uniforms as Nike becomes the NBA’s uniform provider beginning this season. The Hornets will be the only team in the NBA wearing Jordan Brand uniforms, and with the agreement taking effect, the Hornets Fan Shop will have even more of the popular Jordan Brand Hornets merchandise than it has had previously.

Now, new uniforms could just mean tweaks with the obvious addition of the Jordan Brand logo onto the uniforms, but this also could mean that the Hornets could have gotten with Nike/Jordan Brand and come up with completely new uniforms as well. Either way, this makes Nike’s takeover of the rights to make NBA uniforms even more interesting — especially considering that the Hornets are taking advantage of their obvious ties to the Jordan Brand with their uniforms.

What do you all think? Does this mean the Hornets are getting an overhaul, or are they just going to slap the Jordan Brand logo on the current uniforms? Do you want to see brand new uniforms for the Hornets?
