Louisville Bats celebrate Halloween in July

Written By:  •  Friday, July 6, 2018

The Louisville Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, will wear orange and black Halloween-themed jerseys tonight, just 117 days before the actual holiday. “Halloween in July” at Louisville Slugger Field will feature trick-or-treating on the concourse and a costume contest, among other spooky festiveness.

The jerseys feature Halloweenish bats, appropriate to the team, whose name is already a double-entendre of the nocturnal animal and the baseball bats famously manufactured just down the street from the stadium by Louisville Slugger.

The Halloween-themed Bats will take on the Toledo Mud Hens at 7:00 tonight.
