The double-A Amarillo Sod Poodles made a splash (or at least a significant dirt tunnel) when they announced their new nickname earlier this offseason, generating a host of responses ranging from bewildered (“What’s a sod poodle?”) to enraged (“Outrageous minor league baseball nicknames make me sad and angry!”) to enamored (“Take my money for that shirt RIGHT NOW!”)
Earlier today, the Instagram account baseballvida, which identifies itself as “The Official 🔹Instagram Account for ALL Baseball Fans! ⚾️❤️,” posted what appears to be a first look at the Sod Poodles 2019 jerseys. The account has several photos from the ongoing baseball winter meetings, so clearly that’s where the jerseys were spotted.
The jerseys feature as clean and classic a look as you could hope for, given the fairly busy identity the Sod Poodles have adopted.
