This afternoon the Charlotte Knights, Triple-A farm club of the Chicago White Sox, paid tribute to those affected by the latest deadly mass shooting to strike the United States by wearing green and gold caps, the team colours of the UNC Charlotte 49ers. The team also held a moment of silence for the victims during the third inning.
Yesterday evening on the campus of the University of North Carolina Charlotte, a gunman opened fire killing two and injuring four others. The suspect was quickly captured and faces several charges including murder and attempted murder.
