Wyoming Cowboys Unveil New Football Uniforms

The University of Wyoming began an eight-year partnership with adidas last summer and introduced brand new uniforms for its 17 athletic programs as a result. But after just one season in the new threads, the Cowboys’ football team has opted to return to a more consistent and traditional look.

While Wyoming’s custom letter and number font have been carried over from the last set, the contrasting collar has been removed and pentagon-shaped shield featuring the Cowboys’ Bucking Horse and Rider logo has been replaced the adidas logo.

Wyoming has also ditched its curved sleeve stripes for classic Brashier stripes that match the helmet and pants — which isn’t actually all that different from what the Cowboys wore under Nike from 2016-17.

Other minor changes include the university’s full name on the front helmet bumper (as opposed to the state abbreviation) and a larger primary logo on the pants. The adidas logo on the pants has also switched from white to brown.

Wyoming, which finished last season at 6-6 overall (4-4 in the Mountain West), opens the 2019 campaign on Aug. 31 against Missouri.
