Cubs, Pirates Reveal Their 2019 Little League Classic Uniforms

Later this month at Williamsport it’ll be the “Cubbies” against “The Burgh”.

That’s what will grace the front of the respective uniforms of the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates when the two clubs battle at BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the 3rd annual Little League Classic.

Both teams will wear pullover tops with a thick horizontal stripe across the front of the jersey, a look reminiscent of the Chicago White Sox of the early 1980s. The team nicknames inside this stripe are presented in the usual font style used by each club.

Sleeves and collars will be of a complimentary team colour (yellow for The Burgh, blue for the Cubbies), and the team’s usual cap logo is placed in the upper left portion of the chest.

Caps will match this complimentary colour, the Pirates will wear a simplified version of their pirate logo on the cap (crossed bats removed, bandana recoloured from red to yellow), the Cubs’ cap features their secondary “walking cub” logo.

Jerseys will feature the “Thank You” patch we’ve seen at past Little League Classic games as well as the Players’ Weekend games in 2017 and 2018 on the right sleeve, a 2019 Little League Classic patch on the left sleeve.

Nicknames return in place of player names on the back, each player will be using the same nickname they have for their Players’ Weekend uniform.

The 2019 Little League Classic will be played in Williamsport on Sunday, August 18th at 7 p.m. ET.

Players, coaches and families of the 2019 Little League Baseball World Series, as well as local Williamsport youth baseball & softball organizations, will fill a significant portion of the capacity at Bowman Field.
