Arizona Fall League updates team logos

Three weeks after releasing an updated logo for the league itself, Major League Baseball’s Arizona Fall League unveiled new and updated logos for its six teams over the course of the last three days. The teams listed below will take the field with rosters filled with rosters made up of minor leaguers that MLB clubs want to see get some extra playing time, but who did not make the September call-up list.

The Peoria Javelinas introduced a toothier, fiercer peccary, and added an unmissable greenish yellow to their palette.

The Glendale Desert Dogs’ update consists mostly of a color change, from yellow to orange.

The Salt River Rafters ditched their oar-based logo in favor of a water-based one.

The Surprise Saguaros introduced an entirely new look, with an anthropomorphized cactus in a cowboy hat and a bandanna.

The Mesa Solar Sox expanded on their existing logo and added a new font that evokes Boston’s Sox (even though Red Sox prospects play with the Javelinas).

The Scottsdale Scorpions added quite a bit of detail to their existing Scorpion logo and added a typeface that we all know is taken from an ’80s hair band album.

The Arizona Fall League’s season begins September 17.
