St. John’s move from Under Armour to Nike this offseason could have meant significant overhaul for the Red Storm’s basketball uniforms.
Instead, the switch in manufacturers only resulted in minor trim changes on a new template.
St. John’s carried over its basketball-specific wordmark and number font to its new Nike Vapor uniforms, but now uses a more traditional striping pattern on the collar and arm holes. The Red Storm have removed the piping down the side of the jerseys, as well.
The shorts, meanwhile, use the same trim on the waistband, down the side and around the leg holes. They also feature the program’s primary logo on the right leg.
Although they were not shown in the video unveiling, St. John’s game day uniforms will include player names on the back. The Red Storm open the season on Nov. 6 against Mercer.
