Bowling Green unveils 2020 Midwest League All Star Game logos

The town of Bowling Green, Kentucky, will host the Midwest League All Star Game in 2020 for the first time in the 56 years the event has taken place. The Single-A Bowling Green Hot Rods unveiled the logos at their stadium just moments ago.

The announcement took place at Bowling Green Ballpark, which underwent $2 million in renovations before the 2019 season (which I witnessed firsthand during my annual Baseballpalooza road trip with college buddies this summer). In a phone conversation earlier today, Hot Rods General Manager Eric Leach, who was recently named the Midwest League’s 2019 Executive of the Year, described an unseasonably sweaty scene for the announcement at the ballpark:

“It’s 97 degrees here,” he said. “We were going to do the announcement on the field, but we moved it to the stands where there’s some shade.”

The logos were designed by Brandon Lamarche of 3-2 Designs, who, according to Leach, has been creating logos for the team for five years, including this year’s Bootleggers and Sinkholes promotions.

Four days of festivities will include the All-Star Game, a Home Run Derby, and a Bourbon, Beer and Baseball event, among other activities. The game itself will take place June 23, 2020.
