Iowa State Cyclones Tweak Home Football Jersey

With college football celebrating its 150th anniversary this season, equipment staffs from around across the country have been quick to show off the CFP150 patch on their teams’ respective uniforms.

Iowa State followed suit on Tuesday afternoon, and in the process gave us a glimpse of a small — yet significant — modification to the Cyclones’ look for the upcoming season.

Iowa State unveiled brand new uniforms ahead of the 2018 season that featured a black collar and an iridescent lighting bolt on the sleeve of the cardinal home jersey, but the former has been scrapped and the latter has been changed to gold for 2019.

Though we’ve yet to get a look at the Cyclones’ white road jersey, it’s safe to assume that will remain the same since black is not present anywhere on the uniform. It is unclear at this time if the all-black alternate will remain in the rotation moving forward, though.

Iowa State finished last year at 8-5 overall (6-3 in the Big XII). The Cyclones open the upcoming season on Aug. 31 against Northern Iowa.
