Major League Lacrosse Unveils Whole New Look for 2019

Major League Lacrosse has dropped a new league logo just a few days after the new look had leaked via a trademark registration on Twitter.

After surveying fans throughout the 2018 season, the league took steps on working on a rebrand. Led by the Troika/Mission Group (TMG), the league consulted players and league officials on what they wanted to see from the MLL. The looked at the league’s history, the game of lacrosse itself, its geography, and its bright future.

Gone is the green and blue colour scheme that has been in place since the league’s founding in 2001, in its place is a red, white, and blue colour scheme with a silver shield. The player torso on the original logo has been replaced with a smaller full body player in motion in the centre of the shield to signify the speed and motion it takes to play lacrosse.

“We are thrilled to unveil the new MLL branding, as it symbolizes our renewed focus on supporting our players and providing a stellar game day experience for players and fans alike,” said Alexander Brown, MLL Commissioner in the press release. “The new MLL branding was thoughtfully crafted and reflects the exciting present and expanding future of our league and the sport of lacrosse.”
