There will be a lot less “screaming” on Cape Breton in 2020.
Yesterday the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced the team would be dropping the “Screaming” half of their name, introduced a new logo, and a modified uniform.
“Today is a defining moment for the Cape Breton Eagles. Our new brand reflects who we are as a team: we’re bold, we’re confident, and we’re aggressive in our pursuit to win,” Eagles Board Chairman Irwin D. Simon,
said at the unveiling.
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles began play in the Q for the 1997-98 season after the club relocated from Granby to Sydney. In their 22 years as the Screaming Eagles the team did not qualify for the QMJHL league final. Multiple Stanley Cup winning goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury played for the Screaming Eagles from 2000-2004.
