Tony Jefferson joined the Ravens partially due to their all-black uniforms

If you’re reading this, then it’s safe to assume that you care about logos and uniforms in a big way. Naturally, the players do as well — they’re the ones who have to wear the gear in their workplace, so it would be nice to actually like the gear that you’re working in.

One player who took that to heart is Tony Jefferson, who recently signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Of course, he took many factors into consideration when making his decision, and one of those factors just happened to be uniform design. Fox Sports reported on this and shared a quote from NFL Media where the player described how uniform choices played into his decision:

“I am a guy of swagger, so I gotta check the swag at all points before I make a decision. I put myself in different uniforms on Madden to see what will look better. Ravens did look good, though.

Black on blacks, no question. Those [uniforms] are their best combination.”

So there you have it. I’m sure that he’s not the first professional athlete to use Madden — or any other sports game, for that matter — to get a sneak peek at what they’d look like in action while wearing a new uniform, but he’s sdefinitely one of the first to publicly admit it. Either way, it’s cool to see players using uniform choices as part of their decision-making process when it comes to their free agency decisions and it also puts the onus on the teams to make sure that their players aren’t wearing ugly uniforms.

We could probably debate on whether or not the all-black Ravens look is their best look, but it’s still clear that the players are sticklers for design when it comes to the uniforms that they wear.
