Busy, busy day yesterday in sports logos – the Nashville Predators released a new set of logos and caught me completely off-guard; in case you missed it you can read about it here or see the logos on the site here.
The New York Knicks also quietly and without any fanfare made their new logos public when they changed their NBA store graphic, I have posted the entire new set on the New York Knicks Logos page on the main site.
TSN is reporting that the Winnipeg NHL team will announce their new team name this weekend but likely not their logo or uniforms. They still plan on handing out generic NHL jerseys to their draft picks tomorrow. This has happened twice before when Carolina in ’97 and Colorado in ’95 had to make draft picks before choosing an identity (Phoenix had a logo but no uniform in ’96, they handed out a plain black jersey with their logo on it).
Twitter user SleepyJordan sent me this 2012 NBA All-Star Game Logo graphic; I’m not seeing this logo anywhere official and as far as I know it isn’t but if anyone has any additional information on it please post your comments below to help clear this up for all of us.
Finally, the San Francisco 49ers have announced they will be wearing this graphic on their helmets throughout the 2011 season to honour the memory of former player John Henry Johnson who died earlier this month.
