It is not just going to be on-field jerseys that tell you it’s 1924 in the ballpark Thursday night at the Nationals vs. Giants game. The scoreboard, scorecards, ushers, on-field entertainers, even the grounds crew will go with the old-school look.
The 1924 World Series ended with Washington earning their only championship, and is often referred to as one of the best series ever. So, Washington goes back to Senator’s style in their game against the Giants with beautiful throwback uniforms. The Giants are reported to be wearing their throwbacks as well.
Not entirely sure about the color accuracy, as Dress To The Nines show the blue far closer to royal than navy. (Check them out, here)
Block W flags will fly at the stadium, game day staff will be in full 1924 regalia, and organ music will be played instead of the normal thumping pop music. Ben Mauger’s Roaring 20s Jazz Orchestra will play pregame.
At the 1924 World Series, president Calvin Coolidge threw out the first pitch from behind the dugout, so the 2012 Turn Back The Clock Game will follow suit.
The programs and score cards should really turn out great, as they are to be modeled after the originals, seen here.
The smaller details to really give the 1924 feeling should be on full display at this game, so we are putting out the call for photos from any attendees of the game. Send us pics of the flags, program, especially any signage telling fans that when they buy one concession at regular price, they get a second one for 1924 price.
How do you like the look?
