Australia’s National Rugby Sevens team unveiled their new uniform/playing strip today according to a report in Australia’s Herald-Sun newspaper.
The new uniform greatly reduces the role of lime that once dominated the design, relegated to nothing more than just a trim colour near the collar and sleeves. In its place is gold bringing back a colour that the national club traditionally wore as their primary shade.
“It is a return to the more traditional gold compared to last season’s lime, but it still has a strong Sevens flavour with the brightness and vibrancy of the gold. Hopefully the new gold jersey provides us with a fresh start for the 2012/13 Series and our results will stand out just as much as the jerseys.” – team captain Ed Jenkins
The jerseys will make their debut on October 13th, the lime jerseys from last season will still be worn occasionally.
