Saskatoon Blades Hold Jersey Design Contest

Get out yer crayons, it’s a good old fashioned jersey design contest!

The Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League are seeking input from the fans for a special one-game jersey to be worn this season on February 2, 2013.

Their rules are simple and actually make a lot of sense… the name must remain the Saskatoon Blades and, most importantly, no crazy colour schemes are allowed.  As long as you stick to using any of the existing Blades colours of blue, silver, white, and gold you’re good to go.  You can make your own logo or use one of the current Blades logos on the jersey.

Top three designs will win prizes, first place gets the ultimate even-better-than-cash prize – a personalized, autographed version of the jersey they created as well as some tickets.  Second and third place get a combination of tickets and t-shirts or hoodies.

The team is asking you to use one of their five provided jersey template PDFs for the designs, they are available for download from the team website, links to the PDF below:

Saskatoon has been a member of the WHL since the league’s inaugural season back in 1966 and numerous NHL stars have played for the Blades during their junior hockey years including Hall of Famer Bernie Federko, Leafs legend Wendel Clark, and former Blackhawks captain Keith Magnusson… so here’s your chance to design a jersey that could be worn by a future NHL superstar.

Details are also available on the Official Saskatoon Blades website.
