Why is the Devils’ abbreviation “NYJ”? It should be “NJD”.

Honestly, how can you rank the Islanders’ logo THAT low? the NY hockey stick mix is genius, it represents the place it plays for (I guess you all, excluding this “Greg” guy, failed geography, because that orange spot in the middle there is called “Long Island” hence the name “Islanders”) and blue and orange are a great color mix (the alternate jerseys do suck though). One of the most historic and most recognizable logos in the NHL.

Much applause to Greg who ranked it third, as opposed to the other 2 numbskulls who ranked it 30th.

The Penguins logo belongs in the top 10 unlike the Lightning logo and the Flyers logo is awful too!

Mike T: thank you (x a million); it’s about time someone went on record and said that the Islander logo sucks. when they went back to it, i couldn’t believe that i actually heard people say “oh good, that fisherman one was dumb”…but that’s like saying it’s nicer to lie in a pool of dog vomit than in a pool of dog crap.

and, i also couldn’t agree more with Greg’s take on the white Canadiens jersey from the 40s! yum.

In reply to 54321. Exactly how are the Ducks and Sharks Cali pretenders? As far as the Stars goes, I'm glad they're doing away with their Dallas jerseys. Hopefully, it'll have a revamped version of this logo on their new jerseys so they're ranked so low. The Florida Panthers logo has definitely passed the test of time. Their original uniform design in my opinion is way better than their current ones. Even the navy thirds. Because most teams have a similar armstripe. They should revert to those and trash their current thirds.

I wonder how many people that think (insert team here)’s jersey is the best are also a huge fan of (insert team here). I’m a Shark’s fan, and do wish their logo ranked higher on this list, go figure.

Outside of the Sharks, though, I dig the Blackhawk’s logo, which is hard to say, since they always seem to be the team to beat in the Pacific. But the design is perfectly simple, and the colors really pop, and it reminds me of a really well-done American Traditional tattoo. I also like the Redwings, Bruins, and Flyers; all very iconic. The Maple Leafs are too high on this list, because, y’know..it’s a leaf?

The Panthers old alternate jersey no longer exists (and hasn’t in a year). The Oilers and Islanders throwbacks are incredible (the NYI alternate is the worst jersey in the league). The Flames’ alternate should bump them up a few spots. Colorado’s logo is great, the jerseys are just bad. Ottawa’s too high…only the alternate jersey (among the best jerseys in the NHL) is worthy of any positive recognition.

Here’s 3 too high & too low from that list…

Too high: Coyotes (most imbalanced logo in all of sports, does not convey ‘logo’), Lightning (they’ve gone no-name on themselves), & Predators (yes their home jersey is great, but that logo has always been plain annoying).

Too low: Islanders (top 10 for me, they’ll look nicer in Barclay’s Center), Penguins (while not elegant or anything, they do have top 10 balanced logo & scheme), Kings (for me, the Kings, Raiders, & White Sox have eternal rights to black & white/silver… Ducks & Sharks blacks are Cali pretenders).

Oh yeah, the only thing the Sabres really need to correct, get rid of the grey armpits. On the white jerseys especially.

Winnipeg’s overall look isn’t bad. I like how they paid homage to the RCAF. I don’t mind the navy blue home jerseys with the ice blue trim too much, but the road jerseys look like the Jackets. Shorten up the shoulder patch on those roadies. Swapping the two blues royal as the main, navy as the secondary with red would go a long way. Tampa’s looks fine, but please add some black and silver. Can you say Toronto Maple Wing Bolts? Minimizing the Flames’ black to an outline colour would be perfectly fine. Although the Islanders did look good in navy. Even though royal is more traditional, navy seems to suit that team for some reason. But just trash the black thirds please. All the New York teams are getting rid if it, except for Brooklyn. And oh yeah, when they finally do move to Brooklyn, use a blue and orange version of the Brooklyn Americans as a third. The current gold on the Pens stands them apart from the Bruins. Florida’s red jersey would look better with a stripe at the bottom.

Sorry, this list isn’t good.
Leafs second with an incredibly generic logo and horribly inconsistent striping?
Blackhawks only fifth?
Red Wings only sixth?
Sabres sixth with the awful AWFUL piping, pit stains and beyond identity muddling silver?
Lightning eight with the most generic identity in sports history?
Senators…best logo set?
Panthers at 28?! That’s just wrong.
Besides these complaints the list is fine, but the Sabres, Lightning and Panthers ratings are offensive to me.
