Pretty soon Nike’s going to have as many holidays as your local bank. While Easter is certainly a tip-top time to celebrate, it hasn’t long been known as a basketball day. Nike wants to change that up a bit this March 31, offering new designs for its three signature shoes.
Similar to what the Oregon-based apparel giant did for Christmas and again for the All-Star game, this month’s big day gets a color treatment. Easter egg style.
Kobe Bryant’s Kobe 8, already graphically variant because of the color-blocking of the engineered mesh, enjoys “egg-painting technique on Kobe’s signature snakeskin pattern,” really exemplifying Nike’s new mesh and its ability to mix colors in a different way than traditional shoe materials allow.
The Lebron X offers up mint as the base color with the collar lining in Easter-egg hues. But really, this one is all about mint.
Soft blue-green tones and “playful paint patterns” on the KD V gives the Kevin Durant shoe a more subdued Easter appearance.
