The Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings aren’t expected to unveil their 2014 NHL Winter Classic jerseys until tomorrow afternoon (and yes, SportsLogos.Net will be there in person to cover it), but it looks like we’ve got ourselves a very official looking leak from a video making the ’rounds on YouTube.
A video which appears to be the official unveiling presentation, explaining the history behind the design of only the Maple Leafs sweater, shows that the Leafs will be wearing the jersey we reported on being their Winter Classic choice (originally for 2013) in August 2012 and again after additional leaks surfaced in February 2013.
We go into detail and analysis of the history behind the jersey in those two articles if you want to give those a read, as well as the one which also showed the potential Detroit Red Wings design for the 2013 game, we can assume this will also be used in 2014.
The video also shows the new 2014 NHL Winter Classic logo which is last years design with the year updated, below you’ll find the video as well as screencaps from the video (in case it gets pulled down):
