The San Diego Padres continued to honour the history of baseball in their city last night when they donned the uniforms of the 1948 Pacific Coast League’s San Diego Padres. Those ’48 Padres finished the season second-to-last in the PCL with a record of 83-105, yes that’s right, that’s a 188 game season.
First we’ll take a look at the uniforms the Padres actually wore back in their PCL days of the 1940’s:

This marks the third time in 2013 in which the Padres have worn throwback uniforms having previously done so on May 17th (1984 throwbacks) and June 14th (1998 throwbacks)
