The Columbus Blue Jackets were named host of the 60th NHL All-Star Game to take place on January 25, 2015. Due to both labour strife and the Winter Olympics, by the time of the 2015 event it will be the first All-Star Game held by the NHL in three years, the last one taking place in 2012.

Columbus was named as host of the 2013 NHL All-Star Game last April, that game was cancelled due to the 2012-13 NHL lockout. The logo the NHL and the Blue Jackets unveiled for the 2015 game is exactly the same as the unused 2013 design.

“Columbus is an ideal host city for our All-Star Celebration. The facilities are first-rate, the Blue Jackets are exciting and entertaining and the fans passionately support their team and our League.” – NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman

The logo prominently features Ohio’s uniquely shaped state flag flying over the top of the logo, a hockey stick used as a flagpole. This will be the first time the NHL All-Star Game has been played in Columbus and the state of Ohio. It will also be only the second game to be played in the United States in the past 7 years.
