In the article I mentioned the design was based off of how the Calgary Flames did their Heritage Classic sweater, in which they took a classic uniform design (Calgary Tigers 1920s) and used their modern colours and logos.

Seems weird to make it green and blue.

Also, won’t the Sens go with the big “O” from their current throwback sweaters?

Last point: no matter what they are made of, aren;t hockey sweaters still called sweaters?

However, I would hope the Stick ‘n Rink or the skating Johnny Canuck is used as the shoulder patch and not the corporate and constipated orca.

The Philadelphia Flyers never changed their logo, so it makes sense they wore their normal logo on their Winter Classic Jerseys

Unfortunately we have too many whiners in the area who would take this as some assult on the french language, sovernty and culture, irregardless of the historical signifigance or value the old sweaters would be. To these folks, this would be the same thing as if they wore a swastika. Its really sad when political issues have to impact the look of heritage sweaters at a one time only hockey game meant to show respect to the legendary teams of the past. Hopefully they come to thier senses and run with strong replicas for both team teams from 1915.

For some reason, I still feel uncomfortable with the Canucks associating themselves with the Millionaires. There is not much of a connection. The strange thing is that I don’t have that same concern about the Senators, which I know doesn’t make sense. Perhaps it is the fact that the Senators have had the same name over the years, not sure.

Vancouver is at home, so I expect the maroon and white uniform they wore last season, as pictured. Sens will wear white with red/black sleeve striping, black pants and white/red/black striped socks and retro OTTAWA script on the front. That is my uneducated guess.

I guess Montreal used their current logo too though.

They will most likely not use their current logo. I think only Philadelphia did that. I could see the Sens creating a new front crest. Maybe the logo inside of a circle or a Senators wordmark across the front.

I think a solid white V without the letters would work on Vancouver and without the shoulder patches.

I’m wondering if it’s an older sweater.

So under the patch, at least, will be white.
