While the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been temporarily relocated to Guelph, Ontario during the construction of their new stadium they’ve also been constructing a Eastern Conference championship season in the Canadian Football League.

So, in recognition of what will likely be the only professional sports team from Guelph to ever make it to a championship final, the local major junior hockey club, the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, will be wearing special Ti-Cats themed jerseys for their game on the afternoon of Grey Cup 101 Sunday this weekend.

From the Storm:

During their 2013 Eastern Conference Championship season, the Tiger-Cats and the Storm shared the hearts of many Guelph sports fans while they played their home games in the Royal City and the hockey club is honoured to commemorate this special season by wearing Ti-Cats inspired jerseys.

Believe-it-or-not, this is not the first time the Hamilton Ti-Cats have been honoured with a hockey team wearing their uniform in a game, the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs wore Ti-Cats inspired uniforms for a game against the Toronto Marlies, who were wearing Toronto Argos inspired uniforms.

Jerseys will be auctioned off after the game on eBay with 100% of all proceeds going to the Guelph Giants Special Needs Hockey Club.
