Hooray for teasers.
The Ottawa Senators are teasing their new 2014 Heritage Classic jersey uniform ahead of their scheduled unveiling this coming Thursday.
The first (colour) image was released yesterday via the Sens official Twitter account and shows the top third of a heritage white jersey. Here she is:
While the jersey may look white in the photo, compare it to the outline on the Heritage Classic patch and you’ll see it’s clearly off-white/cream/”heritage white”. A favourite colour amongst past NHL outdoor game participants.
Collar striping is identical in style (colours flipped) as their current throwback-inspired alternate jersey and there are black laces coming down from it. A photo showing the similarities to the current alternate:
Looks like the shoulder patch from the current alt is not present on the shoulder of this jersey.
From this the safe bet is a heritage white version of the current alternate sans shoulder patch, but there could be anything hiding in the bottom two-thirds of that jersey… could they use the current Sens logo on the vintage jersey horizontal striping like the Calgary Flames did in 2011? Or is it going to be the giant “O”? We’ll find out for sure on Thursday.
The 2014 NHL Heritage Classic will be played on March 1, 2014 between the Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
