The Los Angeles Kings took to the ice wearing uniforms inspired by their cross-town, cross-sport cousins, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The jerseys were worn during the pre-game warmups on Monday night, before their 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
Those special blue jerseys were worn for “Dodger Pride” Night at the Staples Center, as part of the festivities Dodgers players Brian Wilson and Jerry Hairston, Jr. were on hand to drop the puck for the ceremonial face-off. The Kings even included the “Jr” bit at the end of Hairston’s name on his jersey:
The Kings will play a single outdoor home game at the home of the Dodgers, Dodger Stadium, against the Anaheim Ducks later this month.
