The Chicago Blackhwaks today announced they’d be wearing green jerseys prior to their game against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night.
Featuring clovers on either shoulder and a green-and-white version of their famous primary logo, the uniforms will be worn during the pre-game skate, autographed, and then auctioned off with proceeds going to Chicago Blackhawks Charities. The Blackhawks would then wear their regular home uniforms for the actual game.

Chicago Blackhawks Charities pledges to support programs and institutions throughout Illinois that focus on health and wellness, education and housing, while striving to serve local citizens and impact the lives of youth in and around the city of Chicago. Since its inception in October 1993, Chicago Blackhawks Charities has granted over $12 million to local nonprofit organizations.
Several other NHL teams, such as the Columbus Blue Jackets and Dallas Stars, will also be wearing green pre-game jerseys but photos have not yet been released.
