The early kit unveilings by the major European powers of soccer continue, and this time it comes from last year’s Champions League winners and current Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich. For the 2014-15 season, Bayern will be going back to a look that they utilize every few years, it seems: Stripes.

Indeed, while a solid red strip from top to bottom is normally the primary kit of choice for the most successful soccer team in Germany, they’ve been known to switch things up and go to a striped design, and they most recently utilized this look in the 2010-11 season. However, it appears to be the first time (or at least an extremely rare occurrence) that they’ve gone with blue vertical stripes on the home kit.

From Bayern’s English-language website on the new kits:

The design features broad vertical stripes in the colours of the club’s famous emblem. But there are ultra-modern touches complementing the bond with tradition and contributing to a youthful overall look: red stripes, blue mesh trim, white elements including the three stripes on the sleeves and the round-neck form.

In addition to Bayern revealing their new kits, it appears that a few other German clubs have also rolled out new kits for the 2014-15 campaign, and all of them will be wearing their new kits for the last game of the season.

So what do you think? Do you like Bayern Munich incorporating more blue into their normally red-and-white shirts? Or do you think that they should have kept it on the other kits?
