The Anaheim Ducks have just unveiled their new uniform set for the upcoming 2014-15 NHL season via a posting on their official Twitter account.
Last years alternate jersey gets promoted and becomes the new full-time home uniform, the Ducks first introduced this uniform for the 2010-11 season.
There is a slight change to the style of this uniform, the trim around the player name and number will be orange in 2014-15 (see first photo of article). As you’ll notice in the photo of Teemu Selanne above from 2013-14, the player numbers were previously trimmed with gold. The uniform also now has a lace-up collar and will feature orange on the inside bottom of the front collar, the NHL shield will be placed inside this area.
On the road is a new white version of the ex-alternate, new-home uniform. The black shoulder yoke remains, the black body becomes white as do the player name and number. We’ve done a rough mockup of how the new road looks minus the new lace-up collar and orange NHL valley (we’ve had to assume what the name/number on the back will be):
These new uniforms effectively bring an end to most usage of the (once) primary wordmark-style logo. This logo adorned both the home and road Ducks uniforms from their first season since the rebrand from the Mighty Ducks in 2006 until this past season, including their Stanley Cup victory in 2007.
The Ducks are expected to hand out the new uniform tonight when they announce their pick at the NHL draft. We’ll have more pics and details as they come in.
