Major League Baseball and the Cincinnati Reds unveiled the logo for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game to be held on July 14, 2015 at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark.
The logo pays homage to the history and tradition of the Cincinnati Reds brand, with a focus on the “old-timey” square caps as well as the inclusion of a handlebar moustache – both are seen on the Reds current mascot “Mr. Redlegs”.
Behind the moustachioed man is the Reds primary cap logo, the “wishbone” C along with two crossed bats. The font used for “All-Star Game” is the same used by the Reds on both their official jersey wordmark logos and for player names on the back of their jerseys.
It’s a solid mark, count me in as a fan.
The logo also gives a probable glimpse as to what special “All-Star Game caps” the players will all wear next season, two horizontal stripes on white. Pillbox style? If you’re going to go for it, might as well go all out. Bad Photoshop Mockup below:
This is the first MLB All-Star Game to be held in Cincinnati since 1988, comparing the 2015 mark with the previous games the Queen City has hosted:
