The Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League unveiled their new “Signature Look” uniform by Reebok this morning via their official Twitter feed, and it included quite the unique feature.
Borrowing from a design seen traditionally on the coats of lumberjacks, the Redblacks will wear a helmet with nothing but a red-and-black plaid pattern on it. The plaid pattern continues onto each arm of the jersey.
On the front of the uniform where a player number would traditionally be found is a white version of their primary logo, a large sawblade with an “R” in the middle, the players number is reduced in size and moved to the top left corner.
Each CFL team is releasing a new “Signature Look” uniform this month, earlier this week the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts have both unveiled and worn their special uniforms – photos of those below:
