Back in January, we did a post concerning the leak of two prototype NBA designs: A Charlotte Hornets prototype, and a Brooklyn Nets alternate. The Hornets uniforms ended up being pretty close to the finished product (especially with the stripes on only one side of the uniform), and it appears that the Nets uniforms might be pretty close as well, or at least the shorts.
There is a leak on eBay (which is still up, btw) that’s listed as “Brooklyn Nets Adidas Pride White Swingman Performance Shorts XL,” but all we need to know is that this is clearly the shorts for the Pride alternate that we were talking about this past winter.
This design lines up completely with what we saw back in January (aside from a Nets logo on the side of the shorts), which means that this basically all but confirms that the Nets Pride alternate jersey this season will be a retro design that calls back to the uniforms that were worn during the days of Dr. J and even as a throwback during an NBA Finals game in 2002.
For further reference, here are the shorts side-by-side with the alternate uniform’s prototype design (and the final product will more-than-likely have sleeves).
So, are you guys ready to go back to the past with the Nets? Sorta?
