The New York Mets unveiled a series of minor jersey and cap changes for the upcoming 2015 season today on their official Twitter account.
Most noticeable is the change to their primary home jersey, cream is gone replaced by (ironically, more traditionally appropriate) plain old white. Pinstripes remain, sleeve patch featuring the classic skyline logo remains. A photo provided by the Mets showing this new uniform can be seen at the top of this post.
This will be the first time the New York Mets wear a plain white pinstriped jersey without any black since this alternate jersey in 1998.
For the caps, we have a new alternate road cap with a silver “NY” logo outlined in orange on a basic blue cap with orange button. This cap will match up nicely with the existing Mets road blue alternate jersey which features “NEW YORK” arched in silver.
There’s also a new batting practice cap, blue with an orange front panel and the running Mr. Met logo on the front.
Camouflage remains but according to this latest tweet from the Mets, the “snow white” alternate home uniform is gone — this is a surprise to us as it was listed in the latest version of their 2015 style guide.
